Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.
We accept credit card payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, & Maestro. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, by post or over the Internet.
When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.
Shipping And Handling We make a charge for shipping based on the weight of your items, and this is automatically calculated for you at the checkout. We aim to despatch items within 3 working days. Items should therefore be received within 5 working days. If an item is urgent please ring us to check it is in stock for immediate dispatch.
Items to the mainland UK will be sent with a reputable Courier, Basic Royal Mail 1st Class/Recorded Delivery or Royal Mail Special Delivery - weight dependent - value of compensation is set depending on postage choice. The maximum amount of compensation is quoted when you select the postage method. We charge between £5.00 and £12 on all skates and between £3.00 and £8 for smaller items - weight dependent.
The goods will be covered by compensation upto the relevant value upon your selection. If your item goes missing in transit, please be advised that the compensation will only be for the limit that you have selected on your postage method. Royal Mail deliveries cannot be claimed for till 30 days after the expected delivery date.
We use Fedex, TNT and UK Mail for our parcel couriers - they deliver on an overnight service and cover a value of up to £250 for packages. You will receive an email on the morning of delivery giving you an approximate one hour delivery window slot - so this should help you to know when the parcel will arrive. You can contact the courier if the time slot if not suitable to re-arrange the delivery.
For Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and the Scottish Highlands and Islands, again postage is based upon the weight of the items, and is variable from £3.50 upto a maximum of £27 - Please ensure you select an appropriate rate and location for your items as if the wrong selection is chosen, we will require the additional payment to ship,
Items to be sent to Southern Ireland will be sent by Royal Mail International Standard Parcels or DHL, which is a 3 - 5 day service, and you will have the choice of a compensation value of either £100 or £250.
EURO PRICES Our prices are displayed in both £'s and Euro's. You will always be charged in UK £ sterling, the actual Euro price you pay depends on the Banks exchange rate on that day. Please use our Euro prices as a guide only.
Any items sent outside the UK will not be entitled to free postage even if you spend over £500.
Please be advised that "Next Day Delivery" excludes weekends and a Monday as these are not normal working days. If you place an order on Friday, the delivery will be the approximately Wednesday the following week.
Delivery Schedule We will normally despatch your order to you within 3 business days of receiving the order, if in stock. Your goods should be with you within 5 days approximately. If a special order, please allow up to 21 days. If delivery is longer we will keep you notified.
Please be advised that due to us being closed on a Monday, any goods ordered after 3pm on a Friday, will not be shipped till the following Tuesday.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will contact you to check what you wish to do.
Tax Charges For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 20 % VAT is added to the items. Childrens skates however, are VAT free.
Credit Card Security When the order is placed at our website, credit card payments online are processed by HSBC-epayments on their SSL secure servers, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are not held in clear text on any web site. Guarantee We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a 30 day no quibble guarantee. Items for return must be unused and unmarked and in their original packaging. You are responsible for the safe return of any items and you will receive a full refund less the original postage fee unless goods are not sold as described. Please contact us first before returning any items.

Returns Policy Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm You must notify us of a problem within 7 days of receipt of goods. If the notice is longer, costs for return postage or exchanging goods postage will be the responsibility of the customer. You have 30 days to notify us for returns. We reserve the right to refuse returns that we believe have been used/worn, where labels/tags have been removed. Please be advised that any specially ordered items, from overseas, will incurr restocking charges when a refund is required due to wrong sizing. Any personalised goods we reserve the right to refuse returns. Items ordered in the wrong size to be exchanged could/will incurr postage and restocking costs.
*Special Order* A special order is one where we Al's Skate Shop Ltd and the UK Supplier has to order the product in from the manufacturer. Items of this type will incurr restocking costs.
